This is an activity to learn food vocabulary and expressions. Careful! It is designed for higher levels (from 6th of Primary). Firstly, show this funny video of the tv serial Friends, where Joey explains that he doesn't share food!
You can do an oral activity about it. What happened? What was Joey talking about? Are you like him? What is your favourite meal? What do you love? What do you hate?
It's time to learn more vocabulary!
Here you've got one pdf with lots of food to work on. Show it to your students, teach the new vocabulary and ask the three questions to them. The third question could be done as a role-play, where a student is the waiter/waitress and another student is the one who orders. Role-plays always work :)

If you want to go further, you can create a "restaurant" in your class. You could divide the class and have:
-Waiters
-Chefs
-Cooks
-Guests....
Organise spaces and basically create a restaurant atmosphere! Students could have done menus and decorated the class.
It is also useful to learn some expressions related to food. Here you have a matching activity to work on that:
Expressions on food
And finally...what happened to Joey?
I really like how you introduced a clip from a popular show into the lesson, making it more interesting for the students. These will make them want to pay attention and that's very clever. I enjoyed the idea of creating our own restaurant and I think students would love that, specially. Including the ending to Joey's story is also a very nice touch to give finality to the lesson. Well done.
ResponderEliminarI think your activity is very creative and original because you use a popular series recognized around the world. It is very motivational beause you learning and laughing at the same time. On the other hand it is very useful to learning basic competences to travel abroad and get in a restaurant, a coffe shop or similar
